Dear Friends,

While much of the world has shifted rapidly, the importance of community resilience, support for local food systems and the need for self-sufficiency has become more apparent than ever!

Since January of 2016, Rooted in Wyoming (RiW) has contributed over 8,500 hours of volunteer work, established enduring partnerships, organized community efforts and has proudly facilitated bringing seven gardens into production.

This season, RiW has installed community farm walls and provided tools, seeds & educational opportunities to over 2,000 children in Sheridan County despite the obvious obstacles that schools have faced this year. This continues our effort to make certain that the wisdom of food production is passed down, ensuring that future generations will have the skills and tools to take care of themselves in the coming years.

RiW is moving forward, especially now, with renewed energy and sense of purpose. We have a solid vision of the road ahead with three identified strategic directions: Building Program Resources for Engagement, Expanding and Enhancing Our Leadership, and a Proposed Path to Build a Center for Self-Sufficiency.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff, We invite you to join us for a “re-framed version” of our 4th Annual Hoe Down Fundraiser that includes an Online Auction and a Live Streamed Concert for the final hour(s) of the Auction on October 3, 2020.

By intention, this event is our ONLY major fundraiser during the year. We greatly appreciate your support as we continue to deliver tools, services and life skills to our community, despite what is happening in the rest of our world.

Rooted in Wyoming envisions a future where everyone in our state has access to fresh local foods and is also motivated to grow their own. We appreciate your support which allows us to make such a meaningful and long lasting impact within our community.

Sincerely,

Lise Foy, Executive Director

Bonnie Gregory, Board President
