The Meadowlark Garden began in 2021 with funding from the USDA Farm to School Grant, through the Wyoming Department of Education, and with the help of a Whole Kids Garden Grant. It features a geodesic dome, raised beds, a geothermal heating system, and loads of creativity!
This garden is a state of the art off-grid greenhouse. The geodesic dome and solar electric system help the garden function during Wyoming’s temperamental shoulder seasons, helping students grow fresh vegetables during the school year.
Meadowlark Elementary School Garden’s primary purposes will always be to find new ways to connect student learning in our core subject areas with real-world experiences in the Garden and help students grow in an appreciation for healthy eating.
