Garden Leader Jesse Bennick has led gardening activities at Sagebrush Elementary for the past two years for her science and STEM classes and after-school programs. She leads the ‘Sagebrush Seed Starters’ where students explore processes and methods necessary to grow their own food. The school garden plot is part of the larger Sagebrush Community Garden adjacent to the school.
Sagebrush Seed Starters began in the Fall of 2020 when Sagebrush hosted a aquaponic Farm Wall. (one of five Farm Walls previously installed for the summer growing season at Smith Alley Brewing Company. The program was then expanded when they took over a growing plot in the Sagebrush garden in the spring of 2020.
