John C. Schiffer Collaborative School Geodesic Greenhouse
Garden Leader
Jules Craft // JCSCS Science Teacher
The geodesic greenhouse at John C. Schiffer Collaborative School was completed fall of 2024, and became operational in Spring of 2025. The dome is fitted with ventilation and a heater for year-round growing. Local manufacturing company, Craftco, designed and constructed the dome. Visionary architect Buckminster Fuller first designed the geodesic structure in the 1950’s. The structures are exceptionally durable in Wyoming’s wind!
Rooted in Wyoming is proud of this collaboration with SCSD2, Morrison Maierle, Craftco, & 44 North Construction. JCSCS science teacher Jules Craft received a mini-grant from Rooted in Wyoming to outfit the dome with necessary furnishings for horticulture instruction.
